Out There Flavors:The Beginning
Out There Flavors is a true testament to the entrepreneurial essence of the American spirit. As a recent 2020 graduate from the University of Southern California, the opportunities for an MFA graduate during a worldwide pandemic and national shutdown were slim. Universities weren’t hiring, and most were not even open under normal circumstances. The art world seemed to be on full hiatus. It was a national standstill for many people. Thus, out of chaos, an idea sparked. I have always had a keen way of finding unique flavor combinations as a home cook. I usually ended up making my own condiments and food accompaniments because the available store options seemed boring, poorly executed, and consisted of over-used cliche flavor profiles. I wanted to make food interesting again. So, I started Out There Flavors. Originally called Peer Reviewed, the company started off in a small test kitchen, a.k.a “Mom's kitchen.” After dozens of recipes and input from family and friends, I crafted a setlist of winning flavors that might just give new perspective to how we currently enjoy our food.
Life isn’t boring, so why should your food be?
